Hard Dance Minnesota: OPEN UP ::Simon Patterson::

GoGo Outfits can either be ridiculously complicated or super easy and thrown together, so for my gogo outfits I'm going to have blog posts for desciptions about them :) Last Friday was the last Hard Dance Minnesota show of the year and they went with my favorite genre: trance! It was a super fun night with, what might be, one of my favorite Bass Kandi outfits~ Bass Kandi is the gogo troupe I'm a part of for local EDM shows. We are known as "Minnesota's Hardest Dancers" because we dance almost exclusively with Hard Dance Nation (but have started to branch out as a team). For "Open Up: Simon Patterson" we (Bass Kandi) took inspiration from the poster and went with a darker, sexier feel. It wasn't until we put the entire outfit together that we realized just how "Children of the Night"/Dominatrix it looked XD

We, as a team, decide the basic components so we all match and then add out own personal flares.

The main compenents were:

• Black & Silver

• High Waisted Shorts

• Black Boots

• Silver Studded Belt

• Lace Mask

• Metal Harness

As gogo dancers, most of us already have (and if you don't you should quickly add to you gogo closet!) high waisted shorts and demonia boots/camell 311s, so that part was easy. Then we ordered the lace masks from LightintheBox and the metal harness from Little Black Diamond together in a bulk order. I already had a black studded belt and luckily kept a broken silver one that I used to wear, so I safety pinned that one together and it actually added to the punk look really well! (note to self, keep all broken things so you can save yourself some money lol) The rest of the outfit was personal flare! I absolutely loved the lace mask since I love lace anything lol so I wanted to add more lace into my outfit. I did that with a black racerback ​lace bandeau and one black lace thigh-high stocking. I have a really bad addiction to the sexiness of thigh-highs so whenever I get the chance to wear them, I do! Therefore I added my garter belt and attached one leg to the lace thigh high and the other was layered with black fishnet over black and white striped thigh highs :)

For my arms I put one black long glove on (with cut off fingertips) and bunched it around my wrist. I created a sort of sleeve from an old pair of ripped up stockings in which I cut off the foot and waist part and slipped my arm through the ripped up holes. That helped create sleeved over my shoulders and make the bandeau not seem quite so "naked". Add the two studded belts and hike on the demonia boots and I was feeling pretty sexy XD When I arrived at the show, at the Loft in downtown Minneapolis, I was able to get the lace mask and harness from my Bass Kandi sister: Miss Space Cadet. I had NO IDEA just how much sex appeal those items were going to add to the outfit lol I couldn't stop taking selfies XD

Overall the outfits were kick ass and the show was amazing! One of the best stress-relievers in the world is the chance to dance your heart out to great music, in a sexy outfit, to a fun crowd~ I really enjyed Simon Patterson's trance music and really loved when he added a bit of psytrance. I tend to not get too exhausted to trance shows but I was going all out at this one and after each dance set, the huge fan for the crowd became my best friend XD I feel like Bass Kandi is starting to get really great at our outfits, we are pushing the limits of what we can do and are starting to look very unified while still each being our own dancer~
