Today I was listening to this awesome track in a Psytrance mix by Shane Collins, and I found myself daydreaming about the movement of the song. I started to visualize how fabric would move with the beat if I were dancing to it and out of nowhere- BAM- inspiration!

I've been desperately trying to figure out my next renaissance faire outfit. I now have a gypsy (sometimes gypsy elf), and warrior elf under my belt but I've been itching for something new. While these outfits have become locally popular and definitely iconic in my "outfit resume", this next year will be my 4th year wearing my warrior elf, and my 5th or 6th year with my gypsy outfit D: THAT'S SO LONG!!! *anime flail "where does the time goooooo?!?"* So, it's clearly obvious that I'm in need of yet another renaissance outfit~

Last year I bought these absolutely gorgeous yarn wrapped horns on a headband of flowers and I've beeb racking my brain trying to find an outfit that would work with them. At first I was thinking "fairy queen" with more of a formal dress, but in the end the dress would probably look better/more regal than the horns and would wash them out. Then I thought: "scrap nymph". With a peasant-like dress with tons of different fabrics and unfinished hems...but that idea just didn't grab me.

But that song...that song did something. It made an idea emerge. (along with a cosplay that I've been dying to make). So for lack of a better title, I have decided to describe this outfit: ethereal dancing oracle. I think it's fitting. And defnitely something new for me to work on, and I ALWAYS love a challenge :D I will be working with sheers, deep purples and pinks, possibly blue or I might keep that in the headpiece. There is still a lot of planning and exacts to figure out but I'm glad I finally have the ball rolling on this pi

I think I'm going to be basing it VERY VERY VERY (can't stress this enough) LOOSELY around this outfit/cosplay from Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. Again, VERY LOOSELY based. But it's a great starting point~ I will need to do some pattern shopping, and look at fabrics to see what I can make and what my attack plan is. I have a feeling this outfit will be a lot like my other renaissance outfits and will need a year or two of collecting items at Ren Faires to make it feel authentic.

I can't wait to see what I can create and then go back and see how it relates with the song that inspired it all :D
