"I absolutely love this cosplay! I believe most of that love comes from the character herself; Yang is so strong-willed and confident, it's great to fill in her shoes for a day!"

"This outfit is where I really had a chance to see my technical skills in sewing and how far my ability to sew has come. The jacket alone is probably the most impressive item I've far created so far in my cosplay career. It works with two separate faux brown leather fabrics, is completely lined and hemmed with a bias tape to give it the hard-edge look that is so prominent in the animation style of the show. After creating that jacket, I had to step back and give myself a pat on the back XD"

"Along with the jacket, I really enjoyed making the skirt. The intriguing part was trying to find how to put her emblem onto the skirt. I was very opposed to doing a patch since those are still tricky for me, embroidery also seemed difficult since I had lined the skirt already. Finally, I decided to spray paint it with the help of my friend Kyle. He created a great stencil that we pinned down to the skirt and created a gradient for the emblem. It's definitely one of my favorite parts of any cosplay :D"
