"Sombra was, to put it simply, trouble and a half."

"I was given the great opportunity to dance at Anime Milwaukee and their theme was Overwatch! I was super excited to choose Sombra as her colour palette is my favorite but little did I know how difficult she would be to create!  I tried so hard to brainstorm her outfit into a true gogo outfit and had more than one idea planned, but as each one started to come into shape, it looked further and further away from Sombra's look. I finally had to throw in the towel and just make a "dance-able" version of her."

"It started with the leggings...I tried SO HARD to find a way to make her leggings/leg design into an actual cosplay feature but fell flat at many attempts so I finally ordered the printed leggings (which I'm happy I did because I wear them casually all the time XD). Just days after ordering the leggings I found I could order an entire bodysuit with the leggings and cried for atleast 2 hours...but I pushed on and continued to make the bodysuit myself, in which I found the two types of fabrics I used should have switched in their places on the pattern and now gave me a massive wedgie *cue crying again*. 2 days before the convention I was able to remake the bodysuit with the two fabrics switched so it no longer was unbearable to wear it. And that's just the bodysuit..."

"The jacket was easy enough to make following the pattern and is one of my favorite pieces I've made! I wear it outside of cosplay many times :D But the collar was a whole other story. I had to maneuver a way to create this collar and attach it to the jacket. For the first time ever, I worked with craft-foam and a heat-gun and tried to shape it to make Sombra's collar which is pretty tall, while also shaped low enough to show off the LEDs around my neck. I finally was able to get it shaped and attached with velcro but it left CRAZY marks on my neck the night of dancing."

"The entire time at the convention I was worried people wouldn't know who I was, but luckily the crowd had no problem recognizing me (I think it was the wig). I still think the cosplay is wildly unfinished but it's left to another day for me to finish."
